Dear Volunteers,

The coronavirus continues to be at the forefront of our minds as we experience daily developments and an influx of information which leads to more questions and uncertainty in the world around us.  We want to reassure you that we are taking steps to protect our clients and our volunteers.  In order to be prepared, our team is focused on precautionary measures to minimize impact.  We are prepared to respond when and if it does come to our facility.  We have reviewed and updated our existing emergency health plan and we are monitoring the latest news about the coronavirus.

You can take comfort in knowing exactly what we are doing to provide safety and protection:

  • We are currently cleaning and sanitizing all hard surfaces and high traffic areas every two hours at both of our shelters.
  • We are watching and evaluating our population for the symptoms. We currently do not have anyone in our shelters with the virus.
  • We are looking for housing alternatives for those who are at risk for serious complications.
  • We still need volunteers but we understand and respect people's decisions if they need to stop volunteering for the time being.
  • We ask all of our volunteers who show symptoms or come into contact with infected individuals to stay home and follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of the infection.

We care deeply about our volunteers and are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers as we move forward through this unique situation.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew J. Porter
