March Against the Madness is coming to Kennewick!

Teen Challenge Tri-Cities is hosting what it hopes is the first of many annual events targeting gang violence and drug abuse in our communities.  This year, they are hosting a "March Against the Madness" event whose focus is to spread the word about resource solutions to those who are being affected the most.  Says Bernice Martinez, Teen Challenge Tri-Cities Men's Outreach director, this will be a community event, which demonstrates resources in our community to help our community. We will be marching or parading in downtown Kennewick to show our support for those who are struggling with gangs and drugs. We will be marching with churches, business’, school districts, and police departments. We want 1000 people to come and march to show there are resources out in the community that cares; there is still hope in our city.

The event will conclude with free food, music, resource information booths, and key note speakers in Gang and Drug awareness. This will be a family event in both English and Spanish. This is a chance to showcase community resources from government, local, and faith communities in an easy to access day of information, unity and support.
